Meet Kerry and Mandi Richardson, founders of the brewery, and Mignonne Gross who quit her lucrative tech job to do what she always wanted to do; brew beers from her basement and just hang out playing poker with her beer bud Kerry. Actually, she went back to school and pursued an entrepreneurial course. She then joined the husband and wife team to co-found Last Stand. Gros’ first mission, which she gladly accepted, was to locate the perfect place to build their dream brewery. And the rest is craft beer making history.
The three co-founders started off with just two flagship brews (a coffee porter and a Belgian pale ale), a 50-60 seating capacity and a foodtruck serving Cajun recipes.

Fancy a tour of the brewery? You’ll have to contact them to set up an appointment. Tours run daily from Monday to Thursday. FYI, for $2 you get 4oz tastings of their year round beers, or $3 to get 4oz tastings of their seasonals.

Ever since starting off with just 2 flagship beers, Last Stand now carries 4 all-year rounders and 4 taps on rotation that change quite frequently. They also offer limited tastings of their production brews in various incarnations. Keep track of these guys when they do by following them in social media. You’ll be glad you did.

This is Last Stand’s Belgian-inspired strong pale ale. It pours light colored with a finely balanced taste. It has that bitter flavor rounded by American hops and European Nobel hops..Citrusy notes, ester and spice are present, courtesy of the trappist yeast.

You gotta love Last Stand’s straightforward, no-nonsense way of naming their fine craft beers. Full notes of fresh tropical fruits and resinous pine tingle the taste buds in this west coast style Indian Pale Ale. Columbus hops bring the bitter taste, while dry-hopped Citra and Centennial produces that pleasant flavor and aroma.
Coffee Porter

Chocolatey notes permeate in this robust porter’s distinctly dark pour. Local coffee roaster Summer Moon supplies cold brewed coffee that gives Coffee Porter an added aroma and smooth flavor that is uniquely its own.

SMaSH – Citra IPA

A Single Malt and Single Hop (hence the name SMaSH) Indian pale ale is brewed with citra hops and German pale malt that brings its bitter taste and fine aroma. Definitely strong notes of grapefruit, melon, passion fruit, and citrus.
SMaSH – Galaxy IPA

Another SMaSh IPA, but this time it’s brewed with Galaxy hops and German pale malt to achieve a bittery taste and aroma. Strong notes of peach, passion fruit, and citrus fruit are there for you to relish and enjoy.
