If you have a sweet tooth and are looking for something more than a pastry to satiate your palate, look no further than Amy’s Ice Creams, one of the finer dessert establishments in Houston.

Experience Matters

There are a lot of ice cream shops in Houston. Amy’s, though, has been around since 1984, and the 20 years of experience that the restaurant has had in making and selling ice cream has provided it with both an excellent product and customer service. This establishment now offers more than 350 ice cream flavors throughout the year, and has dairy-free and frozen yogurt products as well.

Flavor Board

Okay, so there are 350 flavors of ice cream that are rotated throughout the year. However, when you walk into an Amy’s Ice Creams parlor, you’ll only see 14 flavors available to you on a given day—7 standard flavors, and 7 rotating flavors. The consistent 7 are sweet cream, white chocolate, Mexican vanilla (which is world-famous), coffee, just vanilla, dark chocolate, and Belgian chocolate. The rotating flavors, as the name implies, change pretty regularly, but some flavors you might expect are raspberry, honey vanilla, chocolate coconut rum, bourbon chocolate walnut, and vanilla chocolate cake.

There are also 2 standard fruit ice flavors: coconut and lime, and well as 2 frozen yogurt flavors: Mexican vanilla and fudge pop.

Yummy and Refreshing

If you’re not in the mood for a cup of ice cream, why not opt for one of Amy’s drinks instead? You can choose from shakes, malts, frosteds, smoothies, or floats in a variety of flavors. Or, you can get one of the refreshing fruit ices, which are served in every flavor from cantelope to honey apple lemon ginger to peach blueberry basil. Yum!

Don’t Forget Your Mix-Ins

We almost forgot to mention it: the ice cream and frozen yogurt is available with just about any mix-in you can imagine, and it would be foolish to not try at least one. At Amy’s, the mix-in options are referred to as crush’ns, and include almonds, Butterfingers, chocolate chunks, graham crackers, Jr. Mints, Kit-Kats, Nutter Butters, oatmeal cookies, Reese’s, Twix, walnuts, and more.

Ice Cream Cakes

If you have an upcoming celebration planned that requires a cake, you might want to try something out of the ordinary by serving your guests an ice cream cake as opposed to your standard flour one. Choose from a chocolate delight cake, Oreo, turtle, vanilla cookie, or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup cake. If none of these flavors sound suitable to you, you can always order a customer-made cake instead. You can also buy chocolate covered strawberries and big kid s’mores from Amy’s Ice Creams.
