BITE is a restaurant in San Antonio that provides a unique style that’s half fine dining, half casual and relaxed. With appetizers and entrees that are French, New American, Latin American, and more, this restaurant is sure to surprise you with its eclectic options and modern scene.

BITE’s Focus

BITE strives to be different, and offers entrees that are very different from small-portioned hors d’oeuvres or food that comes from artificial sources and ingredients. Instead, BITE provides diners with big portions, filling entree options, and food that is as fresh and interesting, delicious and satisfying. According to the chef of BITE herself, all menu items have been inspired by her travels around the globe.

Favorites “Bites”

Everything is good at BITE, but if you really want to be wowed by your food, here are some BITE favorites–

Try the lobster spring rolls. They’re packed with lobster–no skimping on the meat here–and perfectly flaky. The baked goat cheese with olives is another must-try here, and is light and fresh, flavorful and creamy. For an entree, try the Pato Olivo, which is a braised duck leg with olives and tomatoes over parmesan risotto. Or, try the lamb stew over rice, known here as the Carbonado de Cordero, for a sensory experience that will knock you off your feet.

The Scene

The setting here is intimate, modern, high class, romantic, sophisticated, and relaxed all in one. The space is a bit small–with only seven to eight tables–and is better for couples or small parties. There’s also a small outdoor patio if you prefer to eat outside. Also, the patio is dog friendly, which is a plus. The space is quite artsy, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by all the little decor touches here that make the place interesting and comfortable, such as colored toilet paper instead of plain white. Lots of light and lots of color make this place gorgeous and playful.

Sunday Brunch

The brunch here is amazing, and one of the best kept secrets in San Antonio is the fact that BITE has a build your own Bloody Mary bar during the brunch hours. There are a lot of ways to customize your drink, and you’ll be blown away by how awesome this is. For food, there’s a crab Benedict, a Spanish frittata, proscuitto and melon, and more.

Drinks Just as Delish

People rave about the drinks here nearly as much as they do the food, so if you are looking for fun place to indulge in a great glass of wine, a weekend mimosa, or even a chocolate covered banana martini, look no further than BITE.

In conclusion, nearly everything about this place is amazing (with the exception of the small dining space). The service is great, the food is amazing, the drinks are pretty and tasty, and the prices are right on.  A great place for date night or a nice dinner with a friend, we think you’ll love your experience at BITE.
