Fratello’s Italian Market & Deli is one of the cutest delis you’ve ever seen. With wooden tables that make you feel as if you’re dining in a cottage, walls lined with bottles of wine and hundreds of different types of olive oil, an outdoor seating area that’s cute and dog-friendly, a huge pizza oven, and just the right touch of Italian sophistication, we think that a trip here might turn Fratello’s into your new most favorite deli.

Prepare to Indulge

Just looking at the menu of Frattelo’s Italian Market and Deli will make your mouth water, and you may go a little bit overboard when it comes to actually placing an order–narrowing it down to one thing is just too difficult. With a plethora of choices in the categories of antipastis, soups and salads, pasta, cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, pizzas, and ragazzis, we recommend going with a group and sampling as much as you can.

What Makes Fratello’s Italian Market & Deli Famous

There are some dishes on here that really stand out as favorites, and have certainly led to this establishment’s fame as an authentic provider of great Italian fare. First of all, the eggplant parmesan is absolutely amazing–the flavor in the sauce is indescribable, so you’ll just have to trust that it’s some of the best egg parm around. The pizza is also incredible, particularly the vegetable pizza with char-grilled eggplant, zucchini, asparagus, red bell pepper, red onions, roma tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil. The spicy salami pizza with mozzarella, basil, pepperoni, salami, and sausage is also to die for. Other dishes they’re known for are the linguine and their house made crepes filled with ricotta and spinach. The tiramisu is also worth ordering!

Great Sandwich Shop in San Antonio

Just as good as their hot dishes and pizza are the sandwiches. Try the meatball parmigiana with plenty of homemade meatballs and mozzarella; the Fiorentino with smoked turkey, cheese, baby spinach, roma tomatoes, red onions, and vinaigrette; the Lombardo with breaded chicken cutlet, fontina cheese, oven-dried tomatoes, arugula, and basil aoili; or the tuna sandwich with extra virgin olive oil, celery, olives, scallions, capers, romaine, red ripe tomatoes, and basil aioli spread.

Family Friendly Eating

While you won’t find a kids’ menu on their website, they do have kid-sized portions in shop. Kids can get a kids’ sized pizza, kids’ sized pasta dish, and more. The kids’ dishes come with a dessert of zeppoli, and they’re generous in the serving size!

Amazing Italian Market Selections

In addition to all the great meal options you’ll find in the deli section, there’s also an amazing market with some great Italian products for sale. The market features meats, wines, pastas, gelato, cheeses, olive oil, and more. The market has a pretty astounding selection, and is a really nice touch to this already quaint place.
