Brunch Doesn’t Have to Be Basic

Among the food trailers and ever changing landscape of South Congress Avenue is South Congress Cafe, a good old-fashioned brick and mortar brunch spot with something in the menu for everyone. Variety is certainly a perk of a Continental Cuisine menu, where you can find typical brunchy choices like eggs benedicts, migas and omelets, as well as salads, burgers and sandwiches. What makes South Congress Cafe unique though are the twists on these favorites: a corn-beef hash eggs benedict with chipotle hollandaise for example, or an omelet with goat cheese and bacon.

No Hunger Too Big

Needing something more hearty?  Try the savory “Jalepeño Venison Meatloaf,” or “Crab Enchiladas.”  Can’t do brunch without something sweet? Add the cafe’s “Carrot Cake French Toast,” and share with the table.  There’s plenty to try, share, and wet your whistle with (the local favorite Bloody Marys are a good place to start).

A Brunch Scene as Vibrant as Its Home Neighborhood

Like many other Austin eateries, you can expect to be part of a crowd waiting to be seated for brunch on the weekends. Unlike some other Austin eateries, however, you can actually get one step ahead of the game by calling them in advance. Expect a full house pretty much anytime though. If you’re looking to start your day with some great conversation in a lively atmosphere, South Congress Cafe is the place for you.
