The Tavern is a guaranteed great place to go during sporting events to catch the game and to eat and drink. There’s lots of space at The Tavern including some outside seating, and there is an abundance of TVs (50 to be exact) so that you do not have to worry about finding the game that you want to watch on any given day!

Like beer and savory pub food with your sports? The Tavern has a rotating list of craft beers and offers a menu of traditional pub fare, Tavern-style, like the Amazing White Wings, the JalepeƱo Cream Cheese Burger, the B.E.L.T. (that would be a BLT with eggs, on sourdough bread), and much more.

The Tavern’s building has been around since 1916 when Austin was way smaller and it was a grocery store, and there are stories that the space also housed a brothel and speakeasy during Prohibition. It was incarnated as a bar in 1933, as soon as it was legally possible. Since that time it’s been seasoned with visits from all sorts of interesting people.
