Best Steakhouse in Houston

This restaurant is certainly good. So good, in fact, that the Houston Press named it the Best Steakhouse in the years 2004 and 2005; the Houston Business Journal named it the Best Steak Restaurant in 2004; the Houston Business Journal also named it the Best New Restaurant in 2004; and Food and Wine Magazine included it amongst their list of the Top Ten New Wine Lists in the U.S.A. in 2003. So, if you’re looking for a steakhouse that’s applauded by many, Vic and Anthony’s is the restaurant to dine at.

Founded Through Experience

When Vic and Anthony’s was founded, it was based on the experience of Tilman Fertitta and his father, Vic. The two steak-lovers had traveled throughout the country, dining at the best steak restaurants they could find. After compiling an extensive list of all of the characteristics that make a steakhouse amazing, they opened their restaurant using the information they’d discovered. Therefore, you know that when you dine at Vic and Anthony’s, you’re experiencing a little bit of the best of everything that a steakhouse has to offer and that’s been added from the inspiration of other steakhouses around America.

The Dinner Menu

Sample raw oysters, try the salmon tartare, opt for a jumbo shrimp cocktail, or start your meal with delicious lobster bisque before diving into your main entrée. For your meal, the Colorado Organic Lamb Chops ($45) are a favorite, as is the Australian Wagyu Skirt Steak, which is served with duck fat potatoes chimichurri, and a sunny side up egg ($38).  It goes without saying that the prime rib eye steak and the filet mignon are a must for the connoisseur of meat. For all entrée choices, you can accompany your dish with a topping of choice, including hollandaise sauce, port peppercorn, or béarnaise sauce. You may also opt for a topping of jumbo shrimp or king crab fondue if preferred.

You’ll also find seafood options on the dinner menu. The Gulf Red Snapper is amazing, and the Alaska King Crab legs have received much acclaim.

Make a Reservation

While a reservation isn’t required at Vic and Anthony’s, it’s certainly recommended if you want to be seated promptly and take your time with your meal. While the service is spectacular at this restaurant, there are rumors of unhappiness when it comes to wait time, or the time that you’re allotted to dine if you don’t have a reservation already. For the smoothest experience possible, make a reservation. Also, make sure you dress nicely, as jeans are a no-no at this establishment.

Treat Yourself

If you’ve been searching for a meal that you can really indulge in, Vic and Anthony’s can provide it for you. With mouthwatering selections and rich desserts, as well as some delicious cocktails, this restaurant has it all. Great for groups and business outings, the only reason to avoid this restaurant is, perhaps, the price.
