The Melting Pot has been lauded as one of the most romantic restaurants in San Antonio (not to mention one of the most delicious) for a reason. With a menu that wows and an atmosphere that’s as amorous as it is cozy, the Melting Pot should be your next go-to for a night of starry-eyed love or amazing food with friends and family.

Fondue? I Do.

While the Melting Pot has a variety of entree items on its menu, its main speciality is the art of fondue. All of the fondue menu items are priced and proportioned per person, and include some great flavor varieties. Try the favorite cheddar fondue, add a little green with the spinach artichoke fondue, or really go all-out with the Classic Alpine fondue, which features white wine, aged gruyere, raclette, and fontina cheeses with lemon juice and nutmeg. All of the cheese fondues are served with artisan bread and seasonal vegetables. Of course, there are also dessert fondues–we’ll get to those in a minute.

The Four Course Experience You’ve Been Waiting For

If your trip to the Melting Pot is for an occasion that warrants eating well, then we highly recommend the four-course experience that’s offered. The four-course meal offers a cheese fondue per tabletop, an individualized salad (choose between caesar, caprese, a California, or the house salad), an entree, and a chocolate fondue. Entree options are great, and some favorites are the Land & Sea with filet mignon, herb-crusted chicken, and Pacific white shrimp; the Classic, with certified angus beef sirloin, Memphis-style BBQ pork medallions, white shrimp, herb-crusted chicken breast, and teriyaki-marinated sirloin; and the Fondue Delight, which has filet mignon, a cold water lobster tail, chicken breast, Pacific white shrimp, and wild mushroom sacchetti. If you’re a vegetarian, there’s also a vegetarian entree item which comes with edamame, onion rings, artichoke hearts, portobello mushrooms, asparagus, Thai-peanut marinated tofu, wild mushroom sacchetti, and spinach and artichoke ravioli. Prices for the four-course experience range from approximately $30 to $50 depending upon entree choice.

For a Dessert You’ll Remember

One of the main reasons that people love the Melting Pot is for their incredible dessert selection, which absolutely can’t be passed up. There are eight, yes eight, different types of chocolate fondue pots you can select from for dessert. Each fondue is served with strawberries, blondies, bananas, pineapple, Rice Krispy Treats, marshmallows, poundcake, and brownies. While there are many dipping options, favorites are the Strawberry Mascarpone Shortcake with white chocolate, mascarpone, and strawberry puree; the Chocolate S’mores, with milk chocolate, marshmallow cream, and graham crackers; and the Flaming Turtle, with milk chocolate, caramel, and candied pecans that are flambeed table side.
