If you don’t want to travel down to Galveston for Schlitterbahn, Splashtown is the only choice waterpark in the Houston area. Operating up in Spring, near The Woodlands, Splashtown has something for everyone who likes fun in the sun and water.
There are rides for everyone, from single person slides, to large slides for more than one person in a dual intertube, to high velocity rides that plummet you into the water at 30 mph. For those who want a more relaxed change of pace, there is the lazy river, letting guest float down stream. There is also a wave pool, several swimming pools, and a kiddie pool area.
The daily pass admission is pricey compared to some of the entertainment you’ll find in Houston, but the Season Passes are a real bargain – three visits and its paid for itself.
Guest can also get snacks at the concession stand, as well as rent out lockers.
With Waterworld long gone, Splashtown is a great summer destination for the water park enthusiast.

Fun fun fun! I take my kids here every summer and we never fail to have a blast. The entire park keeps growing every year, and the slides are always in great condition. It’s okay to be a big kid here!

Splashtown is overrated. It’s too crowded, stinks, and is dirty with dirty children in dirty water. Give me Schlitterbahn any day!

Splashtown is merely five miles from my house, and I’ve gotten season passes every year for the past five years. I never have a bad experience there, although there isn’t much shade, so bring your sunscreen! They are always expanding (they build off season) and they have something new every year. I will admit, places like Schlitterbahn are better, but Splashtown is a great local alternative.
